The improvement of water conservancy construction is of great significance to further promote the development and utilization of hydropower, protect the ecological environment and promote China's economic development.

This book first introduces the status quo and problems of water resources development and water conservancy project construction. The next six chapters are the foundation for water resources development, water resources development and utilization, water resources development and utilization projects, water conservancy projects, water conservancy and hydropower projects, and construction management of engineering projects. They elaborate the theory, technology and construction of water resources development.

As the book contains more content, involves more cumbersome knowledge, and has more compilers, the format, depth and breadth of the contents of each chapter may not be inconsistent; and the fallacies are inevitable. Readers are invited to criticize and correct. Suggestions for improvement will be gratefully received.

Ming-Mei Wang, female. She was born in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia in November 1978. She graduated from Inner Mongolia Agricultural University with a major in hydrology and water resources utilization. She is a senior engineer and currently works at Chifeng Water Resources Planning and Design Institute. She has long been engaged in water conservancy engineering design, water resources development and utilization research. In addition, she is good at learning new knowledge, new technology, new standards and norms and applying them in her work. Her level of business continues to improve. She has a strong business ability. She has been in charge of projects such as reservoir reinforcement and rubber dam storage design, and participated in the preparation of several water resource demonstration reports.


Xue-Jun Yi, male. He was born in Yantai, Shandong Province in October 1970. In July 1994, he graduated from Hohai University with a bachelor's degree in terrestrial hydrology. He is a senior engineer. In June 2015, he was appointed as director of Yantai Hydrology Bureau. At present, he is a bid evaluation expert for Shandong Water Conservancy Project, a member of the Yantai Municipal People's Government Flood Control Headquarters, a leader of the Yantai Hydrological Flood Control and Forecasting Expert Group, and a member of the joint meeting of the Yantai City National Water Ecology Pilot City Working Group. He organized a scientific research achievement and won the third prize of Yantai Science and Technology Progress Award. Many of his academic papers have won the first and second prizes of provincial hydrology scientific and technological achievements.



Jing-Tao Wang, male, the Han nationality. He was born in Neixiang County of Henan Province in September 1980. In 2001, he graduated from Hohai University with a bachelor's degree in water conservancy and hydropower construction engineering. He is a senior engineer and registered civil engineer (water conservancy and hydropower). He has participated in the design, consultation and management of many large and medium-sized water conservancy and hydropower projects at home and abroad. His Laos Sesa Lalong irrigation project won the first prize of “Haihe Cup” and “Key Technology and Application of Dispersive Earth Dam” won the third prize of Tianjin Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015.
